In 2011 the company inaugurated the Swatch Art Peace Hotel – in Shanghai, China – an extraordinary expression of its further commitment to art and the people who make it: a unique artist residency where creative souls from all over the world find a place to live and work in full freedom.
The project aims to host artists in the true spirit of Swatch: a brand embracing diversity, freedom of expression, innovation, and belief in the power of artists and their work to make the world a better place. Its size and openness to diversity offer emerging artists the unique opportunity to live within an international community and to develop their own projects in an extraordinary creative environment.
Since its opening in 2011, the Swatch Art Peace Hotel has welcomed more than 480 artists from 55 countries and has collaborated with selected destinations worldwide to display the artists’ work.
