Since Copernicus to Einstein, we know that the world is different from what we see.
The visual arts have been concerned with this phenomenon, asking how a dematerialized reality can be visualized. Think of Pointillism, Cubism, Russian Constructivism and Suprematism, De Stijl, Bauhaus, and, finally, the so-called Zürcher Konrete, which includes Richard Paul Lohse. The Zürcher Konkrete faced the problem with sober reflection, developing their questions and ideas on the pictorial object itself. Lohse’s approach reveals a vivid expression of the formal constitution of our modern, historical-social existence.
What awaits you at our exhibition is a symphony of colors, works that radiate luminosity and provide insights into your thought processes.
