jevouspropose X LOOKING Art Viewing Marathon during Zurich Art Weekend
LOOKING is a project (founded in Zurich in 2025 by Chaja Lang and Sam Porritt) dedicated to the slow contemplation of art.
Previously, a nominator has been invited to choose a single artwork for an audience to spend an hour with. By turns awkward/challenging/meditative. More than anything, it has been surprising just how rewarding the careful act of looking can be.
For ZAW jevouspropose (an office for cultural projects, founded in Zurich in 2018 by Sabina Kohler) has invited LOOKING to convene a looking marathon. This event will take the form of eight consecutive hour-long slots, each occupied by a different nominator and their chosen artwork. Viewers are invited to sign up for one or more slots, during which an artwork will be unveiled and looked at for thirty minutes, followed by a short talk given by the nominator.
*Please be aware that late comers will not be admitted and attendees are strongly encouraged to stay for the entire session.

Sarah Ancelle Schönfeld (*1979) forms sinuous and resonant female bodies, characterised by two gongs located in place of the breasts. Once freed of their weight, these bodies resonate with rhythms and vibrations, in a symbolic encounter between spirituality and released energy. With her work, the artist invites visitors to reflect on the condition and role of women throughout history, by means of a playful, intimate and calming installation.
