Joan Miró, the 20th century Surrealist master, is fêted in cooperation with the artist’s estate with an essential presentation uniting his late bronze sculptures with masterpiece paintings and collages from his early career. His transgressive bronze sculptures from the 1970s and 80s are exhibited as if in a museum alongside their source material, sketches and preparatory plaster casts. A bricoleur without compare, Joan Miró’s tireless inventiveness and ability to transform divergent everyday objects into worlds of dreams and poetry are championed.

Joan Punyet Miró (b. 1968), an artist and poet based in Mallorca, responds to the urgent call of the global environmental predicament, and presents his ecological abstractions as healing humankind’s sensibility towards nature. Punyet Miró declares his art “both a celebration and a cri-de-coeur for nature’s sake.” Like a moon orbiting a planet, Punyet Miró’s decades-long support for his grandfather Joan Miró’s legacy is set anew with his own voice instigated, calling out into a universe of beauty and wonder.
