Louise Nevelson (September 23, 1899 – April 17, 1988) was an American sculptor known for her monumental, monochromatic wooden wall pieces, collages and outdoor sculptures. A prominent figure in the international art scene, Nevelson participated at the 31st Venice Biennale.
Her works are included in worldwide art collections such as Pérez Art Museum Miami, Tate London, Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and many others. Nevelson is one of the most important figures in 20th-century American sculpture.
