More Than Gold offers an entirely new perspective on the art and culture in indigenous Colombia. The exhibition is the first ever to explore the diverse spectrum of masterful artistic production of the people in this region and spotlight these works from an indigenous perspective.
The exhibition was realised in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Museo del Oro in Bogotá, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and members of the Arhuaco indigenous community of Colombia.

The exhibition Iran – Portrait of a Country in the Park-Villa Rieter, is celebrating the work of the photographer Antoin Sevruguin (1851–1933) and features 63 photographs from the collection of Museum Rietberg.
Today these photographs tell a story from another time, reporting on splendour and misery, of modernity and poverty, of beauty and wildness—moving, alienating, cheering, and astonishing. But the images also teach us that many can be understood only after taking a second or third look.

Shinrin-Yoku oder Waldbaden lädt ein zum achtsamen Sein in und mit der Natur in Langsamkeit und Stille. Im ersten Teil des Workshops widmen sich die Teilnehmer*innen einem ausgewählten Kunstwerk im Museum und erfahren hierüber weitere Hintergründe. Anschliessend findet das Shinrin-Yoku im Rieterpark statt.
Erleben Sie die fesselnde Kunst der Geigerin Nandini Shankar, begleitet von dem brillanten
Tabla-Spieler Ishaan Ghosh. Diese aussergewöhnliche Zusammenarbeit bringt zwei Virtuosen der klassischen Hindustani-Musik zusammen und verspricht ein unvergessliches Konzert mit indischen Ragas.
In Anlehnung an die kunstvollen Keramikobjekte der Ausstellung «Mehr als Gold» gestalten wir in der Offenen Werkstatt im traditionellen Verfahren eine charakterschale aus Ton, welche in ihrer Formgebung und farblichen Ausgestaltung an die Verbundenheit zwischen allen Dingen erinnert.
