Struan Teague (*1991, in Edinburgh) draws inspiration from his promenades: Many of his signs refer to observations – small branches, moving leaves in the wind or telephone cables. They are memories of things seen, but they are never depicted directly. Sometimes fleetingly, sometimes almost rhythmically, traces in oil, acrylic or pencil are found on the picture support; sometimes it is also the dust of the studio floor or the found fold of the canvas that plays a special role on the picture surface. Countless layers of very thin paint create a finely nuanced pictorial ground that opens up a depth of space in which the bold signs float.

Noémie Pilo’s (*1997, F) works are reflective surfaces, precarious balances, moments that last, risks of falling. They are media of appearance that do not show things as they are, but as they manifest themselves. With the help of sculptures, objects and installations, Pilo reports on elective observations in order to view these events as something special.
