The works by Margrit Linck and Paul Czerlitzki stem from different periods and concepts. A characteristic feature of both works is their interest in surfaces.
The objects by the renowned Swiss ceramic artist are painted in many different ways. Turned objects from the 1950s, hand-built works from the 1960s and a few from her later period form a concentrated group of sculptures.
Paul Czerlitzki’s paintings reflect his tireless curiosity to play with and explore the surface of the canvas. Unfixed pigments are scratched or wiped in various ways. This results in fragile paintings that are almost reminiscent of photographic elements.
