Dimitrina Sevova’s project Samodiva – Wild Reclaiming Space emerges from fieldwork in the ruins of the former women’s ward of the Ospedale psichiatrico di Volterra, now overgrown and reclaimed by nature. Drawing on the history of psychiatry, feminist theory, and ecological philosophy, the exhibition reflects on hysteria as a cultural narrative shaped by projection, discipline and shifting value systems. Through paintings, sculptures, and material experiments with earth, minerals, and organic elements, the show interweaves institutional memory and ecological processes, opening a space to reconsider care, memory, and resistance.
